Walk This Way

Have you ever gone through a long stretch of time when it seemed all you could do was to put one foot in front of the other? Day in and day out, you walked by faith when the answers were distant and imperceivable.

I wrote this reflection many years ago during such a season of concern. I am grateful to testify that all is well now. Looking back, though, I see that the miracle was not only in answered prayer wherein I got the desired result. Miracles were also in every step as God's grace empowered me to stand, to hope, and to keep going.

I share these thoughts about Mordecai and Esther to encourage those weary of the journey. Please bring your concerns to the Lord, and consider inviting a trustworthy person to partner with you in faith. You are in my prayers. Mary

“Every day Mordecai walked back and forth in front of the court of the harem to learn how Esther was and what was happening to her.” Esther 2:11

What went through Mordecai’s mind as
He walked
Back and forth
Every Day
To learn how Esther was doing?

Was he tempted to worry about
Esther’s walk with God
And what her future held?

Or did he trust
Her walk with God
And the Lord’s good plans?

My guess is that…
Mordecai paced back and forth with
Questions and concerns
Along with hope and faith

Most importantly,
Mordecai kept walking. Every・Single・Day

Back and forth
He walked
In the same place,
In the same way,
Day.After.Day

To me, that’s where the power lies.

It’s in a Life Style of
Walking with God,
Talking with God,
And trusting that

The One with Whom I walk
Is big enough and wise enough
To be more than enough
In All
